Monitor raw host reachability with ICMP ping checks — servers, routers, and IoT devices.
Ping monitoring basics
Ping monitors send ICMP echo requests to a hostname or IP. Success means the host responded at the network layer — not that a specific service is healthy.
Some cloud hosts block ICMP from external probes. If ping always fails but HTTP works, use HTTP or port checks instead.
Configuration
Enter the hostname or IP (no protocol prefix). Ping does not use ports or URLs. Combine with port or HTTP monitors on the same host for full coverage.
